MCROBIE Architects + Interior Designers announces the retirement, effective January 1, 2023 of David McRobie, FRAIC, OAA, OAQ after 40 years of professional practice. During this period, the firm has evolved from a 2-person branch office of a Toronto-based practice providing planning services to the NCC to become an integrated architectural, urban design and interior design firm serving commercial enterprises, office developers, retail businesses, educational institutions and governments at all levels throughout and beyond the national capital. While David is stepping back from his role as President, he looks forward to a new role as Practice Advisor to the firm.

The firm continues under the current leadership team with James Salem as President, and Tony Fuso, Jill Sparling and Ian Willson as Vice Presidents.

We love learning partnerships and have been fortunate to have two students join us recently. Stephanie Casanova (left) worked here for the summer and early fall. She is now back at Carleton University’s Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism, working on her master’s thesis which explores wildlife in urban environments. Lovepreet Singh (right) is a doing a fall term co-op placement with us as part of his Architectural Technician Diploma at Algonquin College.
