MCROBIE Architects + Interior Designers would like to congratulate Theresa Bottema on passing her NCIDQ exams! Similar to qualifying exams for other professionals such as Architects and Technologists, to carry the credentials of a Registered Interior Designer in the province of Ontario, it is necessary to write and pass the exams administered by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification, a North America-wide organization. Theresa first had to accumulate numerous hours of combined education and professional experience to be considered eligible to write the exams. Once an approved candidate, Theresa wrote 3 separate exams administered over two days. Two multiple choice sections tested her knowledge of Building Systems, Construction Standards, Codes, Professional Practice, and Project Coordination. The Practicum Exam, lasting 8 hours, required she produce several design solutions, testing her knowledge of Space Planning, Lighting Design, Systems Integration, and Millwork Design, among others. We wish Theresa continued success in her professional career.
