Golder Associates, Ottawa’s long-time leader in earth, environment and energy consulting engineering, is moving to the Bell’s Corners area of Ottawa.  After ten years in Kanata in two separate buildings Golder Associates wanted to bring all 184 employees to one location. Emphasizing Golder’s commitment to sustainability an existing one storey structure on the site will receive a building envelope upgrade and will house the testing facilities and reception.  A glazed walkway will connect the one storey wing to a new three storey wing with a courtyard between the two.  A collaborative work environment is important to Golder and will be facilitated by a feature stair with a skylight in the three storey wing that will encourage people to use the stair rather than the elevator. There will also be numerous flexible working areas, including the ground floor cafeteria which is envisaged as collaborative area outside the busy lunch hour. Construction is currently underway.
