For 20 years now Johanna Garwood has been an invaluable part of the MCROBIE Architects + Interior Designers team! In honour of this milestone, MCROBIE sent Johanna to a painting retreat in North Carolina with other women from the around the US and Canada. She describes her experience:
The workshop was “inspiring” as per the instructor’s key phrase “Live Inspired”. She taught me not to be afraid of the canvas, to experiment and to layer. We were treated like queens for the entire weekend and the weather in North Carolina was gorgeous with temperatures of 26 degrees. It was a welcome respite from the long cold winter we have had in Ottawa. I felt so fortunate to be given this opportunity and I plan to carry the lessons, inspiration and friendships I gained forward into the future.
